Very Rare!  Holton ST-303 FIREBIRD Maynard Ferguson valve/ slide trumpet
The Firebird is a type of trumpet with the standard three valves and the addition of a trombone-style slide.
It was invented by Maynard Ferguson and Larry Ramirez and remains an exceptionally rare, specialist instrument. They were occasionally produced by Holton.
From Holton catalogue: M.F. Firebird. Bb Trumpet. Combination of valve/ slide. Used by Maynard Ferguson in concert and recording. Features same chasis as Model ST-302 but includes four position slide that lowers pitch by four half steps, and can be played either left or right handed.
With the slide in closed position it can be played as any other 3 valve trumpet.
Standard finish brass, nickel silver trim.
Bore .468. 5.0 ”bell diameter, hand hammered yellow brass with wire enclosed rim, bell tilted 20 degrees.
Technical condition: valves and slides move smoothly and lightly, very good compression
A few minimal dings, Silver  Plated.  Original case, no mouthpiece.
